Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice
We believe in a sense of belonging for all children and their families and do not discriminate based on race, color, gender, gender expression, disability, economic status, national origin, or religion.
We believe that when we center the most marginalized in our care, everyone benefits.
We believe it is our responsibility to be good caretakers of our planet. We know that indigenous peoples have been stewards of these lands long before the colonization of the Americas. We look to them as leaders on how to care for this place.
On a big picture level, this means ensuring equitable access to our programs, creating curriculum that imparts a sense of belonging for each child and family, and honoring the ancestral caretakers of the land we play, live, and work on.
On a day-to-day level, place-based outdoor education creates an environment for wonder, reverence, and connection to natural world around us. Anti-bias work is at the center of our curriculum. This is a way forward, in an otherwise uncertain world.
